Preview: Boxing SA Tournament, June 2016

South Australia will host Queensland at a major boxing tournament held in Adelaide on Saturday 18 June 2016.

The action packed program will feature male and female athletes and include juniors as young as 12, elite competitors and masters aged in their fifties.

Female participation continues to grow. South Australian Rebecca Burgess, who won a silver medal at the Australian Championships earlier this year, will take on Queenslander Ange Harris, while two 15 year old girls will step into the ring for the first time and make their competitive debuts. 

Metropolitan amateur boxing clubs will be represented along with clubs from the Riverland, Whyalla and Victor Harbor. 

The tournament will also feature a tribute to boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
